Bottle at home. Pours clear dark brown with beige head. Aroma of chocolate with notes of coffee. Taste has some sweetness, perfectly balanced by go bitterness. Thin to medium bodied, slightly roasted and bitter finish.

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitter met rooksmaak, karamel en licht zoet met iets van geroosterd brood. Is best goed maar is iets te waterig om echt goed te zijn.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown color with creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate paired with strong roasted flavours, a touch liquorice candy. Taste is milk chocolate, earthy roast, cocoa, slightly grassy finish with some noticeable hops. Velvety mouthfeel with fine-bubbled smooth carbonation. Quite harmonious, but also rather sweet. Tasty!

22oz bottle pours a cola brown with some lacing, off white head. Approachable nose, true to style, some rootbeer, brown sugar, burnt toast, yeast. Flavor has some marzipan, cola, toffee chews, a little tootsie roll. Finishes mostly dry though, lightly creamy. Well done for the style.

Flasche im Hackendahl in Berlin. Schwarz-rote Farbe, brauner Schaum. Aroma: Röstaromen, Kaffee, Brot, säuerlich. Geschmack: geröstetes Malz, Schokolade, Kaffee, würzig.

Bottle. Cloudy brown colour. Moderate beige head. Aroma: toast, caramel. As the beer gets warmer the roast takes the lead. Light to medium body. Well-balanced taste. Soft roastiness, dried fruit, caramel, light hopping. A good schwarzbier.
