Pour is a hazy bright yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is brett funk right off the bat. After that I get some banana and clove esters just like a German hefe. Flavor is tart green apple with some funk from the yeast and a white grape. This is super hella carbonated giving you little funk burbs long after the beer is gone. A well done and flavorful low alcohol brett saison.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy straw color with large frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, brett, sweat, wheat and grape skins. Taste starts light sweet and sour, follows yeasty, funky and woody with toasted malt note, mouthfeel is crisp, dry and spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and fizzy carbonation in palate. Almost brilliant...

Draught at Akkurat, 11/28/16.
Very slight haze to this pale, golden beer. Well-carbonated with a moderate amount of white head atop.
Very strong Sacch yeast esters in the nose actually outdo the Brett influences here, which is always a welcome change of pace. Light honey, bread crust, lemons, apples and papayas end with some slightly more dry pepper and light lime-like Brett. But there’s very little to dislike here, perhaps a slight overabundance of yeast character, in general and maybe a touch of clove, but it’s clean and has a proper texture, good attenuation and a manageable hop profile. Lots of phenolic character on the end; again a good balance of Brett and Sacch.

Bottle. Beer District, Buxton. Pale gold. Lightly hazy. Film of white head. Nose has all of the funky yeast. Dirty and earthy, with on the turn citrus fruit. Taste is dry, with some fusty lemon tang. Foamy mouthfeel. A little soapy and watery. Short, dry finish. Smells very decent, but tails off thereafter.

Draught at Akkurat. Hazy orange coloured body. White layer on the to, dotted spots on the glass.Spiced fruity aroma, hints of lemon. Slightly tart fruity taste of mango, peaches and lemon, grainy malts beneath. Drying, mid-tart, fruity finish. Pretty nice (Stockholm 27.11.2016).

Bottle from my Summer Santa Nisse666, many thanks! Hazy yellow color with a large big-bubbled white head. Aroma is cookie dough, wheat, citrusy, a touch of yoghurt/lacto, maybe pear and apricot, definitely some sweeter fruit flavour. Taste starts with quite a tart bite, then some softer milk-like flavours blend in, some unripe berries, chalk, slightly doughy. The finish is rather soft and not spicy. Quite crisp carbonation. So far, it’s an interesting Saison, but just not rustic and dry enough for my taste - the "buttermilk" profile is a bit overdone. But then, in the aftertaste, there comes one of my favourite flavours: Gooseberry! The aftertaste really has a clear gooseberry profile which gives yet another addition, and I have to say, this one has a fair amount of complexity and is still quite drinkable. Definitely interesting.

One of these Brekeriet Brett beers, a modern saison also using different strains of cultured Saccharomyces apparently. Lightly lacing, egg-white, moussy, medium thick head, more or less stable, over a warm egg yolk yellow robe, hazy with strong, lively fizz; becomes equally cloudy and milky in the end, with lightly ochre-ish hue, almost witbier-like. Aroma of candied lemon, buttermilk, granadilla, apricot, ripe pear, fruit yoghurt, white bread dough, gooseberry, hay, some stale sweat, tulips, camomille, unripe plum, lime juice, margarine, lemongrass, white grape, sweet gherkin, chalk. Crisp, vividly fruity onset, lots of unripe stonefruit sourness and even light wryness with a sharper lemony acidity to it, almost puckering but very refreshing, surrounding a sweetish apricot- and pear-like core, sharpish and spritzy carbonation coarsening an otherwise light, smooth, lightly buttery mouthfeel; soft soapy and lightly bready malt middle with continuing drying fruit tartness, some sweaty and lightly leathery Brett accents in the end, along with a mildly drying, grassy and spicy hop bitter touch. Juicy malt sweetness and tart stonefruit dominate the finish. Carbonation remains sharp and numbing, this is a tad overcarbonated even for a spritzy style like saison, but otherwise this is a very pleasant, elegant, crisp example of the style, adding a buttermilk- and sour cream-like quality to a decent, light Belgian ale profile. Very enjoyable quencher with a certain amount of complexity, this is an embodiment of how craft beer culture has elaborated on the old saison style in recent years. Recommended.
