Its roasted malt gives it a caramelised flavor with notes of caramel , chocolate and spices. It is characterized by a delicious balance. The robe is very dense, between burned coffee and caramel; the foam is licorice like, beige. The nose navigates between coffee, chocolate, licorice, notes that hesitate between roasted and burned. The palate is rich, round, slightly ticklish with bitterness in the end, just to mark the length.

23/08/2017 - 33cl bottle @ B&B Le Vieux Marronnier Foy-Notre-Dame. Brown to amber colour, big creamy tanned head. Nose is dark malts, caramel, spices. Taste is dark malts, caramel, some fruits, spices, some alcohol. Very balanced and decent, not outspoken like the saison.

Kirkas, keskiruskea olut vaahtoaa alussa kohtalaisesti, mutta vaahto katoaa aika nopeasti kokonaan. Maltaisen makea, sokerinen ja pehmeä, hieman luumuinen tuoksu. Maku samoin maltaisen ja pehmeän makea sekä aavistuksen luumuinen. Ihan nautittava olut ja belgialainen ei petä, mutta eihän tässä kieltämättä mitään erityistä ole. Jää kauas parhaista belgiveljistään.

Monumentális, hosszan tartó bézs hab, sötétbarna, vörösbe hajló szín. Erősen fűszeres, karamellás, gyümölcsös beütésű illat. Nagyon picit édeskés, karamelles ízvilág, fűszeres, komlós felhangokkal, kis égetett cukros beütéssel. Testes sör.

Pours a hazy red-amber colour with a beige fizzy head that disappears rather quickly leaving no lace. Nutty nose with dark fruit aromas and some brown sugars. Raisins, dates flavours with some nuttiness in the middle and pretty solid bitterness in the finish. Lingering roastiness and hints of caramel. A good Belgian strong brown beer.
