Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - reddish brown pour with beige head. Sweet toasted bready malty, fruity and yeasty, with notes of caramel and brown sugar, malty finish with a sprinkling of spice.

330ml bottle. Chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white head. Slightly sweet malty and yeasty fruity aroma, hints of flan and dried fruit, an alcoholic touch. Taste is moderately sweet malty and fruity, bitter hoppy counterweight, hints of dried fruit, flan; bitter hoppy finish.

Sampled from bottle at deanso’s. bottle courtesy of Maakun. Dark brown clear beer with light tan head. Sweet roasted malts, barley, leathery bitter. Light sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Bittersweet somewhat chocolatey finish.

Bottle shared. Clear dark reddish brown with beige head. Caramel and toffee, roasted malts, soft licorice, brown sugar, some weird bitter herbs. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Ok but not their best beer.

Dunkler, trocken malziger Beginn. Kräuternoten sind hinter dem Malz erkennbar, das den Geschmack aber auch im Mittelteil dominiert. Erkennbarer, nicht störender Alkohol, Nuancen von Schokolade. Langer weicher Nachgeschmack. Gut! 12/10/11/11/12/11

Bottle from Au Brin De Paille, Colmar, Alsace, France, consumed at Frank (camper) Camping Trois Château Eguisheim, Alsace, France, Monday 20th June 2016 whilst cooking chicken wrapped in Alsace Jambon and served with salad. Pours chestnut brown with a light beige head, bit murky. Nutty and malty, it’s a softened hoppy edge but certainly not too hoppy. It’s got a good a slight woody edge, I really like this and usually Brown Ales do little for me. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Clear amber brown colour with red hue, small frothy beige head, diminishing slowly, light lacing. Aroma sweet malty, cocoa, caramel, dark bread, brown sugar. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, toffee. Middle part roasty sweetbitter, finish full of coffee roastiness that lingers on and on. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, very nice evolution of taste, excellent.

Bottle from Saveur. Pours dark brown with off white head. Caramel/toffee aroma with light dates, figs, prunes. Taste is more to the dryer, liquorice side with dates and hints of vanilla. Lightly sweetish finish. Not complex enough to compete with the big boys, but quite tasty nonetheless.

Clear deep amber - brown beer, decent tan head. Palate is airy and slightly soft with decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, reasonably sweet . Milk chocolate well integrated with mild brett. Mellow cappuccino. Tangy fruits, light esters and a little sweet floralness rounds things off. Light semi dry finish with a mild bitter linger. Lots going on here, unusual and tasty.
