Bottled. Reddish brown colour with a mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, mildly toasted as well as some slight yeasty spiciness and mild floral notes. Flavour is quite similar, but also has quite strong burnt sugary notes as well as some yeasty spiciness to it in the finish.

Bottle purchased from La Bierotheque, Toulouse, delivered through the post and drunk at home. It pours very dark brown, opaque with a beige ring of head. Aroma of liquorice, black pepper, sarsaparilla and yeasty bread notes. Sweet taste, spicy with lots more liquorice and some raisin. A light tannic bitterness near the end. Odd, slightly vegetal aftertaste. Thick, oily body buoyed up by some carbonation.

Dark brown almost Porter, smooth head, molasses cookies aroma. Great light roasty flavor, tastes like a Baltic Porter, coffee and a hint of nuts. Really fantastic lasting flavors with good sweet/roast bitterness balance.

Pours brown from the bottle. An off-white rather creamy head lingers. Aroma is full of roasted grains, caramel, chocolate, but with mineral water notes. Taste has a strong roasted bitterness. Faint hints of chocolate afterwards. Body is medium. Carbonation soft. Decent.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Dark ruby almost black colour lasting beige head. Belgian yeast fruity esters. Yes tasty enough. Along the lines of a quadruple I guess. Good strong dark Belgian strong ale I thought. A touch of liquorice, some plum, some dryness on the finish. Decent.
