Bottle shared by Pilsnertest, many thanks! Dark brown with brief, beige head. Caramel, raisins, dates, toast, booze. Sweetish, but works very well. Great beer!

330ml bottle. Dark reddish brown with very little head. Initially fizzy likes soft drink. Big, bold, fruity boozy nose. Flavour is more of the same. If I’m picking fault it could have been a little thicker, but that’s probably just me

Bottle. Nose is cherry , vanilla plums, vanilla, berry, red fruit, almond biscuits, marzipan, bakewell tart. Taste is cherry, plums, slight cola, caramel, slight wine, raisin, dark fruits, marzipan, slight bourbon, port, vanilla, vinous note emerges as it breaths. The chocolate is very subtle and comes in the sticky finish. I absolutely love this beer, it has so much going on. I am baffled by the barrel, I can't find information about what was in the barrel, I could taste aspects of bourbon and wine notes. Looking back on my notes for the original beer I noted port in the flavour then so I am assuming it's more likely to be bourbon or brandy.

Clear dark brown pour with a fine-grained beige head. Notes of dried fruits, figs, raisins, caramel, prune jam, anise star, and just a bit of sweet bourbon or cognac in the aftertaste. Smooth, sticky-sweet texture, full body, sweet finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Quadrupel Barrel Aged on 08 Feb 2018 at 21:02 - Score: 8

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home Sunday 4th February 2018 cooking Beef Fillet with Port Sauce and Chips. Pours a slightly hazy edging towards red/amber brown in colour with a filmy off-white head. This has a really good tang, it's a big quad and much better than the standard version. A good spiciness, this is a big beer but much like the standard version the alcohol is well hidden. I only gave the standard version 3.5, but this is a cracker, a little caramel, fruity but with a good kick. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0
