Bottled. A slightly hazy golden beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, lemon, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, lemon, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle @ Domus Birrae, Rome. Pours unclear golden with a small lasting white head. Nose is yeast, orange and some dry and dusty cellar notes. Mild Horseblanket and vaguely tart flavor. Crisp and dry. A bit more Cantillon Lambic would have been fine!

Bottle 75 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours a cloudy and opaque golden with an off-white head leaving some laces. Dry lambicish nose - a little barnyard. Rather light in body, again dry lambic accents - hardly any residual sugars here. Sulphurous but not really sour though. Ends very dry. Quite interesting. 020610

Great hazy orange coloured body with a copper glow, a perfect (two centimetres) tan head and a lot of lively action in the glass - due to the bottle fermentation. Aroma of great sour grapes, acidic tartness, fruit, light malt and more puckering scents - awesome. Medium-bodied; Assertive carbonation with a lot of malt/wheat up front fading to a tart grape flavour, but not overly done like a normal lambic (although I love those). Aftertaste shows some sour flavours, but mostly light oaky, drying flavours, some fruit tastes and light alcohol. Overall, a very nice combination of a saison and a lambic - almost the perfect combination of style representations. I’d definitely recommend this one, a very worthwhile beer if you like either of the styles, and one that you’ll absolutely love if you enjoy both styles of beer! I sampled this 37.5 cL split bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 14-March-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 16-May-2010.
