Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color, opaque, small head. Some caramel, dry mouthfeel, some sourness, a bit fruity, earthy, dirty, and a touch of liquorice. It doesn’t invite to dig further.
One of the less achieved cherry beers.
Underimpressive.

On tap at St. Augustine’s. Copper amber. Aroma is sweet-sour, lots of cherries, slightly woody. Similar to Flemish ales. Taste is slightly tart, sour, cherries. Good one.

On Tap at Bittercreek, Boise Cloudy redish brown, with just a brief momentary head. Barely a single bubble thick. Woody sharp sourness, more depth than other lacto sours. Cherry, but darker and fuller. I dint get much Belgian yeast character, More of a flanders style which is weird for a domestic Lacto beer. Still very good.

On tap @ the brewpub during RateBeer weekend. Murky deep reddish brown appearance with little head. In the aroma, there are notes of cherry, acetic acid, oak, and vanilla. Moderately tart with tons of raspberry and cherry in the flavor. Quite fruity but ultimately one-dimensional. Ok.

Keg at the brewpub, 01/02/16. Reddish orange with no head on offer. Nose is prissy citric peel, sharp red berry, damp cloth. Taste comprises tarte cherry skins, straw, red apple, grain, prissy notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, acidic rise in the close. Ok simple sour.

Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Very hazy murky brown amber, dark tanned head. Nose is basic strawberry vinegar, sourness is basic puckering lemon. Taste is basic lemon acidity, iron, empty, light spoiled fruits, jam, strawberry jam vinegar. Body empty, light iron, some odd notes, two components that don’t jell. Not too impressive or particularly good for the style but passable as a beer in general.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy copper with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is cherry skin and oak. Thin mouth, tart cherry, yogurt, vanilla, light finish, good.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours very dark brown. Dark red berry aroma (could be cherry) with some sourish dark malt notes. Med body at least. Flavor is mildly sour dark cherry and somewhat sour earthy dark malt. Quite nice.
