A complex and unusual sour gruit with a hint of brett funk. Huge herbal notes from big dry additions of mugwort, yarrow and nettles. Finishes with a delicate bitterness. An ale from hundreds of years ago.

Bottle at home thanks to James, 29/07/17. Light haze on a golden orange pour with a moderate off white head that soon dissipates. Nose is lemon rind, spice, herbs, Sumac, grains, straw. Taste is herbal remedies, pissy, thyme, light brett, hay bale, mixed spice rack, lemon sours. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Interesting stuff ... not sure id revisit but fair play for having a go!

Peach and perfume. Vinegar. Sharp lacto. Nice acid. Dry as feck. Like a dry cider. A very brave effort. Drinks like cloudly lemonade.

Sampled from cask at ’In de Wildeman’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Hazy, straw yellow with a white head. Herbal-spicy, slightly fruity aroma of juniper, ginger and some lemon. Slightly bitter, very herbal-spicy and a little fruity taste of ginger, juniper and some lemon, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter and very herbal-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, flat. Don’t like it.
