Brewed in collaboration with Matt Curtis and The Duke’s Head Highgate, this is our new red ale which sold out on its release day. It’s got a delicious biscuit and caramel malt backbone that is lifted by pine and dank notes from Chinook, Simcoe and Nugget hops.

Tap at Mother Kelly’s, 13th September 16, hottest day of 2016. Pours a murky red Amber. Aroma is pleasant, hops, some cararmel. Taste is sweet, some bitterness, fair bit of cararmel. I like it a bit crisper.

330 ml bottle. Almost clear amber with a nice, dense, tan head. Aroma is citric fruity, some pine, mild caramel and toffee. Flavor has a mild, smooth caramel and toffee base with lots of refreshing citric fruit, pine and balanced bitterness. Very smooth, tasty and pleasant.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Mathieu’s house cooling party”. Bottled during 11.2015. Brownish red amber, little off-white head. Nose is dank pine resin, herbal, raisin, dank herbs. Taste is sweetish messy herbal hops with sugar, pine, caramel, raisin, earthy,… Fizzy, touch thinner. Rather messy beer but not a bad one. Removed from your usual IPA or even an ideal one.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Cloudy, dark red. Very messy, bubbly, cream coloured head. Lovely, dank, blackcurrant hop. Some vanilla malts. Bit of pine resin. Smells great. Taste is woody, resinous bitter. Full body. Soft fizz. Long bitter finish, that gets spicy and zesty toward the end. Very decent, but as much as I like a bitter IPA, this seems to lack a touch of balancing sweetness.
