Choulette Ambrée is the result of a rigorous selection of special aromatic malts which give it a good caramel taste. Red, with coppery reflections, dense ivory foam, this beer exudes an aroma rich in notes of prune.

750 ml bottle (Dec 07) from Monument in Concord, CA. Spicey, roasted caramel aroma. Dark amber color that didn’t last long, and neither did the white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is caramel, almost hinting of cola. Clean, crisp and refreshing. Rather mild, but there is enough bitter to balance the malt. A very calm and relaxing experience. Good stuff.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (250108)

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Ruddy colour with huge, off-white head. Malty nose with dark fruit, nuts and ginger biscuit spices (ginger, cinamon, cardamom). Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, blood oranges, toffee, chocolate, black-currant and a delicate, spicy bitterness in the finish. Great balance, nice beer.

Test vom 21.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,12,11,14,13,12 - 12,10
