Bottle thanks to Bursprak da man on my birthday with the Dangerous Bottleshares buois. Pours blood red/purple with a big pink head. Aromas of raspberries, black berries, funk, green tart apples, jammy fruits and a lot of lactic sours. Taste has a lot of raspberries, blackberries, light green tart grapes, green apples, stone fruits, dry, lactic tart, black currants, berry jam. Holy shit this is complex. One of the best if not the best De Garde I’ve had. Supah hawt!

Thanks! to Tinus. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT XIII. Very deep red purple, head doesn’t sadly last, very deep bright pink. Looks gorgeous. Taste is amazing, red wine, red grapes, dark berries, huge raspberry & red fruits, red fruit, huge juice. Taste is puckering, strong sourness, huge fruit, red grapes, grape vines, plums, red grapes, cherry skins, huge fruit & wine, puckering dark berries, hard to describe. Carbonation is huge. Fruit on this one is insane, a touch better than the regular one I would say going by my scores. Spectacular brew. So much fruit.

Bottle @ ZZT XII. Opaque dark red color, virtually no head. Smell and taste huge red fruit or raspberries and very sour. Well, a bit too much for me but interesting anyway.

Bottle @ ZZT12. Bordeaux red colour with a dark pink to purple head that doesn’t last long. Smells cherry, cherrypeel, red berry, sour. Tastes unbelievably fruity, cherry red fruit, berries, very sour. Heavy on the carbo, medium body. So sour.

The beer is a dark, nearly black purple. Bright purple head. Full raspberry aroma. Dark berry flavor. I haven’t had a black raspberry but this is what I imagine it tastes like. Nice tart pucker. It tastes a lot like the Purple version. There’s just a bit more depth of berry tartness, but I’m not sure I would have noticed it without drinking the two side by side.

Poured from a bottle at the brewery. Aroma is very black raspberry forward. Some light lemon and citrus notes with hints of oak tannins. Really nice raspberry notes. Pours a very dark purple with a thin, dark purple head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with lots of berry notes. Light oak notes. Very juicy and jammy with low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice berry forward beer. Nice drinking, slightly alcoholic berry juice. Some faint malt notes and oak.
