Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Nice clear deep dark red color, virtually no head. Smell and taste lightly malts, sweet, sweet fruit and some candy even. Slight bitter finish. Decent body and quite soft carbonation. Not bad, but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Small sample from bottle @ PRZH Winterbiertickfest. Clear brown color. Aroma’s: sweet, sweet fruit. Retronasal it’s sweet, a bit strange, herbal. Flavor is sweet, candies. Medium bodied. Not much of an aftertaste.

Bottle shared at Winterbeerfestival Gouda. Clear dark brown with barely any head. Sweet red wine, a bit of chocolate, stale old coffee, coffee candies, herb candies, tofee, light alcohol. Quite sweet with under medium bitterness. Over medium bodied with low carbonation.

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, brownish amber. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of juniper, toffee and vanilla. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of juniper, toffee and vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Nice!

Pint Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2016.

Bottle sample at PINT Winterbierfestival ’16. Dark old chestnut brown colour, no head. Aroma is sweet, cooked dark fruits, spicy, molasses. Flavour is quite sweet, lots of molasses, some cough syrup, light spicy, dark fruits, hint of roast and chocolate, bittersweet finish. Full bodied, sticky, oily, almost flat. Pleasant surprise. Would say this is an Old Ale.

Thank you for sharing people! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Deep red wine amber with no head. Nose is warming umami vinous gummi bears, wine leaves, glühwein, very syrupy,… Taste is massive weird herbal vinous syrup, sugar, grainy, herbs, vinous gummi bears, glühwein, herbal, boozy,… Flat, massively thick vinous syrup. Very strange, brew, not entirely for me but maybe suited for lovers of glühwein & massively sweet beers. Odd but interesting to a certain extent.
