On tap at bitter creek. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is all curry fruit spice and some malt. Taste is as the nose with lots of spice curry and chillies. This was fun a really good curry beer.

Draft - Curry powder and cinnamon with the slightest touch of chocolate. Jet black with a thin brown head. Curry, coconut, dark roast and some chilli spice. If you think chicken wing flavoured chips are cool, you will like this. I don’t see the point.

Bottled at SBWF. Near black, no head. Smells like walking into an Indian spice market, or like a fresh bowl of Hyderabadi Biryani. Sweet with medium-full body and clean mouthfeel. The curry flavour dominate completely, and the curry heat is much more prominent than in proper Indian food. Interesting idea, but out of balance. The clean, hard malt structure is also a drawback.

Sample at Yard House Seattle. This brew pours brownish-black with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Curry, cinnamon and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet/spicy curry, toasted coconut and citrus. The finish is spicy with a dark chocolate and curry aftertaste. Above average overall.

Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light and airy, semi dry. I thought this would be a heavily spiced clunky stout, I could not have been more wrong! Pleasant sweetish spice, perfume floral with violets, rose and those dipping trays you get whilst waiting to pick up your take away at the Indian Restaurant. Light lime and coconut and a trace of chocolate. Cayenne pepper starts in the mid and builds to the finish, but it’s never too hot. Semi dry finish. Wonderfuly judged spices, this hangs together superbly well. If I have had a better spiced beer I don’t recall it.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a chalky brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of spice with the curry and pepper coming through supported by roasted malts and dark grains. Flavor has a good amount of cumin and curry that slightly over power the dark grains and roasted malts.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s 30th Birthday Bash - CBC Clerkenwell, London. I brought this beer along - I contributed something! Pours dark brown with a moderate, tan foam head. Nose of perfume and cumin. Medium sweet flavor, more perfume notes, some capsicum, chili and lime, along with a bit of cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some heat in there. Spicy finish, with coriander, chili, lime. It’s an odd beer on paper but overall it works quite well.

Bottled. Nose of cumin, curry, dirty sweat. This thing smells foul. Tastes only a bit better: lots of curry and spice, coconut, chocolate, coffee, and a burning peppery finish that lasts a long time. A well made monstrosity. Well-constructed, I suppose, but one of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted.

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th celebrations, 08/02/13, thanks to Leighton. Light black with a thin tan head. Nose is dark malt, mint, corriander, spice, lime, coconut, chocolate, Thai green curry. Taste follows pretty much. Add some chocolate notes, a light chilli kick and lemongrass. Full end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation. This could have been a car crash but turned out Ok - interesting stuff !
