Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is brown malts, caramel, old wood, earthy notes, tea (reminds me of Lapsang Souchong a bit). Mild hop presence as well. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Very different and interesting beer, not to mention tasty.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Clear deep amberbrown, good frothy beige head, dissipates to a thin layer after a while, light lacing. Aroma dark malts, caramel, dark fruits, raisins, dates, light cocoa, molasses. Smooth taste, above medium sweet and light bitter, malty, candy sugar, raisins, dark fruit, molasses, burnt caramel, light alcohol, peppery notes. Full-bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, lingering dark fruit, burnt caramel, warming alcohol, rich and well-balanced, very good.

Bottle picked up from Foeders online webshop, Haarlem, Netherlands and consumed at home Sunday 26th February 2023 listening to older music on throwback Sunday. Pete and the Pirates - One Thousand Pictures Royal Blood - Royal Blood Erland and the Carnival - Erland and the Carnival Dexys Midnight Runners - Searching for the Young Soul Rebels Cooking a Belgian Beef Carbonnade and also Chicken and Chorizo Lasagne and Chorizo, Red Onion and Feta Spring Rolls (made them up). Pours deep reddy/brown in colour with a sticky off white head. Tangy fruity edge, some sweetness but not overly so. There is a hoppiness throughout and I note from the label that Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosaic are used in this beer. The tanginess lasts quite a while. Soft mouthfeel, a little woody spicy edge. It's a good beer.

This one is a bit sour, from Foeders Amsterdam. The base beer is fantastic though. Malty and full bodied. Try again elsewhere for sure

Old ale, pour un vieux comme moi! Citra/mosaic hops in an old ale, interesting twist for sure.

Creamy off-white good mostly diminishing head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter wonderful flavor. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Nice.
