The brew comes on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Brother Jacob. The Feestbier Limited Edition 2015 Oak Aged on Bourbon Barrels contains various hops, caramel malts, Mexican Yucatan honey and whiskey-soaked toasted American oak flakes. The beer gets its name from the fact that it also matured in special barrels. The additional maturation in Bourbon barrels gives this festive beer a full, velvety aftertaste of soft peat and honey.

Many thanks for this beer to tderoeck. Vintage 2015.

Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Clear golden color, small white to off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, honey, slightly bitter. Don’t get any bourbon really. Served too cold though, that might be it. Not really noteworthy imo.

750 ml. bottle -> 10 cl. tasting glass @ “2de Bierproeffestival van De Dijleschuimers”. Truly strange beer. Hazy orange with a small very uneven white head. Nose is oddly sweet milky & sugary sweet candy, yeast, watery white chocolate, odd sweet bourbon, white sugar,… Very strange. Taste is odd milky white chocolate, lactose, honey, candy, vanilla, varnish, white sugar, almonds, marzipan, bizar candy, bourbon,… Fizzy. Very weird beerd, akin to some strange chemical white chocolate concoction. Partially enjoyable, I really don’t think that this combo does work.

17/XI/15 - 75cl bottle @ Horeca Expo (Gent) - BB: n/a (2015-1601)

Clear blond beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of vanilla, sweet, caramel, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nice bourbon in the start, bit sweet, lots of vanilla, fruity touch, little bitter, citrus, some banana. Aftertaste: bit yeasty, sweet touch, alcohol, more vanilla, some caramel. I'm impressed how well the bourbon barrel ageing worked for this Belgian style ale!

At Horeca Expo 2015, generously offered by the brewer. Celebration honey beer, barrel aged. Thick, creamy, egg-white, lacing head, hazy peach blonde colour. Aroma of pineapple, peach, vanilla, buttermilk, acacia honey, dry white wine, hints of woody tannins and bourbon. Sweet fruity taste, peachy, banana, some gooseberry, fairly strong carbo, honeyish malts reinforced with actual sweet honey flavour and lovely vanilla tannins in the end, some bourbon but quite subtly so. Sweet honey beer alright, but in the good sense of the word, to my palate at least.

Bottle at horecabeurs 2015. Pours cleqr blonde, big white head. Smell is somewhat sweet, malty. Taste is very buttery, sharp grains and some boowe. Creamy mouthfeel. Too much buttery character
