Snörkel was brewed with alderwood smoked sea salt and oyster mushrooms takes inspiration from the classic German "Gose" style. Like a traditional Gose, Snörkel is moderate in alcohol and has some acidity, but you won't find the savory, umami flavor of oyster mushrooms in any German version!

750mL bottle, pours an opaque cloudy yellowy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is huge on the lacto, with light citrus and a very yogurty quality. Flavour is big on the lacto, with tons of yogurt, moderate salt and a slight herbal quality that maybe comes from the mushroom. Yogurty palate, with a citrusy and salty finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Tall Boys, Leeds. Batch 3, dated 06.18.2015. Pale straw colour. Soft haze. Film of white. Nose has zesty, lemon hop. Lemon juice tang. Preserved lemon, the missus has just chipped in with. She’s not wrong. Bready, yeasty, and a bit saison like. Taste is lightly tangy sour. Some earthy, salty, savoury thing going on. Light sweetness. Doughy mouthfeel. Gets a little thin. Soft, slightly savoury, light bitter finish. An oddity, that overall isn’t salty or sour enough.

Draught at the brewery, almost no head, cloudy yellow color, aroma of apple, whitewash and some funky notes, flavor of earty mmushrooms and whitewash with mellow but noticable salty presence, a whiff of smoke and a fruity streak, light to medium sourness blending inicely with the salt. Excellent and very interesting.

Sample at CBC. Not really my thing. Yellow colour, some hay and funk in the aroma. Taste is a bit malty/bready. Ok but not more.

Bottle shared in London - thanks! Pours hazy yellow with a creamy, white crown. The nose holds some musty lemon, hay, rind, faint funk. Light sweet flavor, a little salty, a bit syrupy, with prominent doughy bread character. Medium bodied, finely carbonated. Sugary finish with notes of cereal, ripe lemon, light citric tang and a hint of salt. So so.
