This Oak Aged is copper brown in colour and its aroma is a mixture of muscatel aromas and Quadrupel. In addition to sweet honey, flowery meadows with almond and caramel, we also distinguish the aroma of muscatel wine and, of course, that of oak. This Quadrupel too has been lagered in barriques, most of which are burned on the inside. Out of all batches released so far, this batch has the smokiest and fullest flavour. The influence of Oloroso and Brandy barrels also has a distinct side-effect. Ultimately, the complex flavour is full, smooth and balanced. The aftertaste is that of wood tannins, smoke, almonds, dates and caramel, the latter giving this batch a bitter-sweet touch.

Bottle. Slightly unclear brown/dark golden body almost without any head at all. Nica aroma of caramel malt, dry fruit, some wood and vinous. Flavor as expected from aroma, caramel, dry fruit, wood etc. Fine body and long lasting smooth aftertaste. Sure nice, still a bit disappointed, aroma is better than flavor – a bit straight forward barrel aged kinda. I believe this great quad has bigger potential than this.

Murky dark brown with no head or carbonation. Aroma and flavour have loads of sherry and strong alcohol. It's gone very thin over the years. Still nice though.

Fles gedronken tijdens proeverijtje met Tomhendriksen, Benzai, Roelzie en Keukeman. Robijnrood, licht troebel bier met matig schuim. Heel licht aroma van vanille. Smaak is waterig met een beetje pit Ook de nasmaak heeft iets pittigs.

Fles thuis gedeeld met Inoven, LiekevdV, Benzai, Keukeman en Roelzie. Het is een helder bruin bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rode wijn en sherry. De smaak is vol, fruitig, rode vruchten en hout tonen.

(Bottle) Brown colour, slightly hazy, with brief foamy head. Malty, vinous nose with caramel, dark bread, raisins, prunes, nuts and a touch of Madeira wine. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes, dark rye bread, nuts, almonds, oak wood and a vinous, warming finish with a touch of fortified wine and a mild spicy bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Really tasty, with a generous wood character. Great beer.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Oak, vanilla, vinous notes, marzipan. Slightly herbal aroma. Malty sweet flavor. Boozy, oak, vanilla, soft herbal notes, should be the moscatel. Floral. Raisin. Sherry. Warming. Complex beer.
Plaskie. Megaslodkie. Intensywne. Paleta to rodzynki, kandyzowane owoce, landrynkowosc, wanilia. Syropowe. Nieco PXowe w odbiorze, acz nie az tak skrajnie geste i slodkie. Beczka po Moscatelu zrobila mi pozytywny zaskok, jeden z lepszych batchy tego quada

#500 Dutch review, 3rd March 2019. Pours a caramel colour, no carbonation or head. Aroma is caramel, barrel, sherry, liquor. Taste is smooth, sherry, wood barrel, brandy, some head, dark fruit. Delicious, love the series, not sure the age is a benefit though.
