65 cl bottle @ Oluthuone Esplanadi. Rated on 17.04.2010
Aroma is somewhat fruity and sweet with american hops, caramel and toffee. Flavour is sweetish with caramel, some toffee, fruitiness, hops, some oaky notes and stinging alcohol. An ASA too high on booze.

Medium beige head. Slightly hazy deep amber body. Deep earthy toffee and chocolate aroma with vanilla fudge, sherry, and linoleum notes. Sweet-dryish earthy toffee and vanilla fudge taste with chocolatey alcohol and honey notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft mouthfeel with slight heat. Dry-sweetish roasty vanilla fudge aftertaste with chocolate, honey and linoleum notes. Really nice, but a bit too sweet and perfumy. (0.65l bottle, Fish & Beer, Copenhagen. Cellared for 1 year.)

Bottle @ Armin’s house. Somewhat cloudy, reddish orange appearance with a small tan head. Somewhat oxidized, toffee, light vanilla, dull flavor hoppy, fairly intense aroma. Fairly boozy, cardboard, plastic, toffee, caramel, bitter floral flavor. Pretty strong.

0.65l bottle courtesy of Meilby and shared with the Kristiansandsmafia. Never thought I'd get to try this, so big thanks for sharing! The pour on this one is clear dark nutty brown, actually quite lovely looking, and it has a low light sidesticking off-white head. On the aroma it's lovely sweet and kinda oaky with lots of sticky sweet strawberries, some vanilla-oaky touches and caramel. Feels quite complex and very nice. It has a near creamy-sticky texture with a average small bubbly and quite comfortable carbonation level. The flavors are sweetish, caramely and sticky with sweet consentrated strawberries, vanilla and some rum raisins. Wish I could just pop a bottle and enjoy it over an evening because this was really nice! Again, big big thanks for sharing! 30.03.2012

Bottle 650ml @ Geokkjer
Pours deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, coconut, oak and vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long sweet, coconut, vanilla finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonaiton is soft.

Etwas schokoladig. 8/11/11/12/8/11

Bomber, shared with Brenn79, thanks bro. Pours murky burnt orange with a small beige head that collapses into a collar of foam pretty quick. Smells like an over-the-hill barleywine, a smell I don’t care for at all in a beer. I really hate over the top maltiness. Taste is way too sweet and malty, way too oaky. Carbonation is average and the body is full. Not my thing.

22 oz. bottle I purchased from Carl’s Meat market in Kittery ME. In January 2011. Deep amber / red hues color with lots of fizzy carbonation that was clinging to the side of the snifter. Almost no head at all. Very light ring that hugs the snifter. Nose is a malt bomb. Sweet nose, also you can get vanilla. Taste has a LARGE malt profile with candy sugar, vanilla with oak and toffee. Mouthfeel is oily and slick. Medium in body. I cannot find any trace of the 11 % ABV. I find this to be more sweet then it should be. Not enough contrast, it needs something else to balance it. I served it at 46 degrees. Over all it is ok. Maybe I will hunt down the 3rd in the series. Or maybe not.

Bottle (from American Beer Distributors, Brooklyn) at Leighton’s Aug 11 tasting. It pours hazy dark mahogany brown, with a decent off-white head. The nose is oak, caramel, dust, orange, brown sugar, nougat and vanilla. The taste is fig, oak, caramel, brown sugar, treacle, nut, hazelnut syrup, crème brûlée and vanilla, with warming alcohol in the finish. Full body, syrupy mouth-feel and fine carbonation. A decent sweet American Strong.
