Dêgustée en fût au Vices & Versa. De couleur brune très foncée et quasi-opaque. Nez de malt rôti, moyen de chocolat noir, léger de chocolat au lait, de houblon herbeux et de café brûlé. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture moyennement crémeuse. Faibles notes de chocolat au lait (petites traces lactiques) lors de l’entrée en bouche qui fait rapidement place à un goût de malt très rôti avec un moyen goût de chocolat noir amer puis en finale l’on retrouve une moyenne amertume de houblon herbeux aux notes résineuses avec un léger goût de café. Post-goût long et asséchant, moyen-amer de rôti, de houblon herbeux et légèrement résineux, léger de chocolat noir avec des notes de café. (25 mars 2012)

Hahaha, I saw Lapatt and I thought some kind of sick joke is in order. I didn’t realize it was Dunham. Awesome beer. Smells super pungent, very thick malt and musky. Pours black with great head and lacing. Fertile and robust. Amazing porter, with lots of coffee taste and dark chocolate. Very sexy - best beer from this Montreal trip. Bottle from Delires du Terroir.

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur noire opaque, mousse couleur lait au chocolat persistente et laissant une dentelle éparse. Arôme de café noir, cacao, réglisse, fumée, tabac et houblon. Goût d’espresso, de houblon, d’agrumes? avec une amertume assez prononcée et qui persiste longtemps. Carbonation faible, texture crémeuse et un peu huileuse.

Aroma: Soft roasting notes with chocolate, coffee and vanilla accents. Soft and complex nose. Appearance: Pitch black with large, light brown rocky head; fully lasting with fair lacing. Taste: Notes of black chocolate and coffee are dominant and leaving a soft and enchanting bitterness that is not too strong. American hops are well mixed and giving floral notes to the general roast bitterness. A very good balance between roast and hop bitterness. A good porter. Sweet porter fans, please refrain here.

On tap at Brouhaha, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt and bitter dry cocoa powder. Flavour is more roasted than the nose suggests, with lots of hops (not as much as the black IPA). Robust indeed, and well-balanced - through quite aggressive. Excellent stuff.

A deep dark porter with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, a smooth roasted coffee malt with light nutty notes and floral hops. In mouth, an intense herbal roasted coffee with bitter chocolate, some very bitter and grassy hops, with metallic notes. Interesting. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 10 2012.
