Bottle from Carrefour, Ninove. Pours hazy dark brown with a small, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. The aroma contains raisin, licorice, candied orange, herbs, cookie dough, milk chocolate. It tastes medium malty sweet, some caramel & chocolate, and light to medium herbal bitter, almost roasted even (like roasted nuts), a bit yeasty. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, bit metallic, lingering dough. Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Has the character of a cliché 'Belgian brown', but it's balanced and tasty, so why not have one?

330ml bottle in Brugge on 6th Feb 2016. Poured a very dark brown, the head a full and deep beige colour. Aroma held strong dark fruit esters and sweet caramel smells. The taste was of sweet caramel flavours with some yeast, liquorice and dried fruits. Interesting and enjoyable.

Opaque red-brown color, medium to full sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, a bit dusty, lightly smoke, a hint of leather, lightly sweet-bitter. Nice liquorice finish. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice. Good one.
