Schokoladiger und malziger Beginn, weich aber bestimmt herb. Milde trockene Süße, steigend würzig. Leicht erhöhte Karbonisierung, die Herbe sinkt. Gelungen. 11/11/12/11/9/11

Bottle shared by Craftmember, thanks! Medium thick, creamy, pale greyish beige, stable head, very dark burgundy colour, yet fully translucent. Aroma of meat broth, bitter chocolate, caramelized sugar, madera, balsamic vinegar, ’haemoglobin’ iron, toasted brown bread, elderberry, cooked rhubarb, chestnuts. Vague sweetishness in the onset but much more dominated by a soft, blackberry and red apple peel-like sourishness as well as umami flavours; medium carbo, creamy and bit oily mouthfeel, dryish middle phase with a subtle toasted touch which hangs around a bit. Soft, herbal, tea-like hop bitterishness and gentle whisky-like alcohol warmth accompany this in the end, but caramelly sweetness lingers the longest. Tasty beer but not very typical for the style, a bit thinner and less roasted bitter than the classic eastern and northern European examples.

Små hint av lakris. Sjokolade. Mokkabønner. Nøtter. Subtilt. Lett syrlig avslutning med en lett tørr ettersmak. Topp øl!

Bouteille 50cl, batch#1210, BB 20/06/2017. Brune foncée, col fin crémeux blanc-cassé, légèrement doré au verre. Arôme est fruité noir, petites effluves de baies rouges, le tout sur un nez agréable qui restitue très bien les malts - grillé, chocolaté, crystal. Palais est malté et je retrouve ce même côté fruité noir rappelant la date plus cet ajout de baies rouges. Petit résiduel de grains/terreux, cendre moyen. Petite amertume pointe sur la fin avec une bière qui devient épaisse.

Aroma has sweet, syrupy maltiness typical to East European porters. Also molasses, pea soup and vegetables. Flavour has ash, vegetables, pea soup, cold coffee and minerals. A bit too foamy and fizzy palate. Too much vegetables here but not completely bad.

Bottle at Craigs. Pours dark red brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark malt, nuts. Taste is light sweet, nutty finish.

Bottle at craig’s. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is toffee, roasted, taste is sweet, sugary, light roast malts.
