Tap at Open Baladin, Roma, 21/06/13. Clear copper golden with a thin off white head. Nose is orange, citrus, hops, grass, farmy. Taste comprises orange rind, lemon, herbal notes, grass, light spice, background hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with bitter notes. Decent saison hybrid.

Pours golden amber with a very small head.Nose shows over-ripe pears, sweet confectionery notes, doughy bready characters and soft floral hops. The doughy note transfers through as a flavour unfortunately. Some of the fruit remains too. A bit of booze in the plain finish along with some sharp bitterness.Could use more carbonation.

Bottle with a label that made me feel underdressed, 11C. Pale amber with a large dense cream head. Vibrant aroma of apricot, peach, dough, spices, flowers, lime leaves. Bittersweet with firm bitterness kicking in straight away. Fruity, dough, slight tartness. Dryish bitter finish with lingering spices and citrus peel. More saison than IPA IMHO (certainly moreso than the Nøgne Ø / Bridge Road India Saison). Anyway, a really joyous beer. [4.0] Growler. Oh, where’d it go? Heavier on the palate, sweetness and bitterness much more prominent. Nimbler in the bottle with spices and tartness playing a much bigger role. Much more IPA-like - and still pretty good, but more like 3.6. Leaving rating as per bottle.
