Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de Pours reddish blackish dark brown with a rather big creamy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, smoke, charred wood, vanilla fudge, hay, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt grains, red chili, alcohol and hints of manure. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, charcoal, steamed paprika, hay, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, hay, steamed paprika, soil and hints of alcohol. Decent but a bit too peppery from the barrel aging.

375mL bottle, pours jet black with a large lingering beige / tan head. Nose brings lots of roasted malt and dry cocoa powder - not getting any barrel character. Flavour is rich and robust, with roasted malt and dry cocoa powder. Again, not getting any barrel notes, nor liqueur quality. Quite a dry palate, with no residual sweetness, but no harsh roastiness either. All in all, seems more or less the same to the non-BA version, just heightened in flavour and maintaining good balance. Excellent beer.

Bottle. More or less black in color, with a dense, finger-thick light tan head. The aroma is sort of boozy, with dark chocolate and roasted malts, some cocoa. Dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice notes and a touch of the booze. Cocoa. Lots of chocolate, coffee and some licorice and vanilla in the flavor. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate. Semi-sweet. Lasting finish. Nice blend of flavors and aromas in this one, but it’s a bit one dimensional. 141018

375ml bottle from Brewdog AGM 2014, shared with jeevan. Pours opaque black, thick tan head. Aromas straight off of tiramisu. Boozy chocolate and coffee, light coconut notes, maybe woodiness actually. Taste brings it together nicely, lingering sweet sherry notes. Medium body, packs a lot into the strength. Lovely.

375 ml. bottle shared by Kraddel. Thanks! Black, thick creamy popping bubbles mocha head. Nose is coconut (hilarious after a coconut porter where I got no coconut), mocha, sweet spirit, sweet chocolate, creamy, delicious, high class craft chocolate. Taste is light coconut, lots of cacao, sweet caramel, mocha, sweet cane sugar, sweet creamy, hazelnut chocolate milk,.. Body is lighter than you would expect, cacao,.. Pretty different, unique, very nice, shared with some brewerd @ Modeste 2014 & they also quite enjoyed it.
