Bottle shared at Leightons place. Thanks to Colin for this one. Opaque black coloured pour with an attractive, dark tan head. Aroma is big, chalky BLACK Malts, salty, cherry, red berry, raspberry. Nice stuff. Flavour is composed of dark malts, cherry, raspberry, hint of smoke, roast. Nice black forest gateau type thing. Palate is medium full, highish carbonation, tangy tart finish. Really solid.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, oily, cocoa, rocky road, plenty of dark fruits sherry & port, jammy action, toffee, booze, fruit cake and honeycomb. The taste is bitter, roasted malts, mild acidity, jammy fruits, treacle, plum, toasty, booze, brandy and cocoa with dry, toasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Great nose, taste a touch of a let down though.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Colin. Pours oily black with a frothy beige head. There’s a bit of char on the nose, some dark fruits, cherry, berries. Medium sweet flavor with burnt wood, bitter chocolate, scorched earth, leathery dried out dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, lots of char, bitter cocoa, some raisins. The char is a bit heavy but it’s good overall.

Bottle. Beermoth. Very dark, clear, chestnut brown. Film of sticky, lasting, light brown head. Booze. Liquorice. Tar. Milk chocolate. Dark fruit. Any BA character is light. Given the base beer is so good, this is a little underwhelming on the nose. Taste is chewy sweet, then big, roast bitter. Some ashy dryness in there. Full, rich, smooth palate. Finishes chewy, roast, slightly fruity bitter.

Pours black with a tan head.Nose shows heavy roast, cognac, soft booze and cocoa.Heavy-hitting flavours, loads of dry roast with a bit of booze and cognac cutting through at the end.Could use some extra carbonation for a creamier mouthfeel.
