30/XII/16 - 33cl bottle from 't Uilekot (Herzele) @ Delft - BB: X/2016 (2016-1516) Thanks to ElManana for getting us a crate for the Gents Bierfestival!

Little hazy blond beer, irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, almonds and marzipan, malty, some banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy start, coriander, sweet, pretty oxidized (my bad), ripe banana, bit sugary. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, lots of coriander, spicy, dry, bit metallic.

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Hazy golden, little white head. Nose is soap, herbal, grass, odd sweetness, almonds, esters, yeast,… Taste is nasty soap, esters, almonds, citrus, watery, esters, phenolic,… Soap, yeasty,… Not too pleasant.

Commissioned for the non-profit organisation ’t Uilekot in Herzele (pub and bookshop). Moussy, snow white head, misty golden blonde colour. Grainy, bit sourish aroma of wheat, coriander, wet straw, nutmeg, lemon peel, some unpleasant solvents. Thin mouthfeel, dry grainy taste with citrus touch and strong carbonation, quite watery finish with (too) little hops and a bit phenolic. Has a certain saison-like character in a way, but unfortunately it is not a very pleasant ale, not well-balanced and far from flawless. But this was six years ago - and since this beer appears to be still in existence, I can only hope it has improved since then. Let’s find out at the Gents Bierfestival in August!
