375 ml. bottle @ (Als ik mijn ogen toe doe ben ik in) Honoloeloe. Served in an champagne bucket (a frist for me – they said that they have too much beer & too little fridges). Black, small collapsing deep mocha head. Nose is very thick & syrupy with molasses, light licorice, thick roasted coffee, thick vanilla, light marshmallow, huge syrupy coffee & light soy sauce. Taste is super thick, roasted coffee, roast that is balanced by syrupy sweetness & vanilla, candy, marshmallow, very thick brown sugar, warming, light coffee, faint licorice, huge coffee,… Very syrupy body with fine carb. An interesting sipper. Big on coffee, roast coupled in a slightly odd balance with huge sweetness. Plus an amazing label & wonderful label as usual from To Øl.

Black color with nice beige head. Chocolate and vanilla in the aroma. Taste is surprisingly dry, burnt ashes, wood, good feeling. Great feeling, not too sweet, not too crazy. Very good.

Bottle shared at chriso’s pre-Christmas tasting 2014 - London. Pours oily black with a frothy tan head. Sugary dark malts in the nose with accents of milk chocolate. Big sweet flavor with rich chocolate character, some burnt wood, dark fruits, raisins in particular. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with sticky dark sugars, burnt marshmallows, some earthy bitterness. Tasty.

Poured into a teku showing a finger of coffee colored foam and dark black but somewhat light bodied. The nose shows a lot of big and even notes of dark roasted malts, espresso, dark chocolate, smoke, bourbon, and charred wood. The palate is medium bodied and highly carbonated. A lot of flavors and all of them very intense - some adzuki/red bean sweetness and dark chocolate. Some noticeable hints of bourbon and vanilla. Surprisingly easy to drink and not heavy like a stout. Very elegant, smooth, and clean espresso bitterness on the finish that’s just a touch and not heavy. Having the drinkability and easiness of a porter but the flavors of some of the best stouts, this is easily one of the best porters I’ve ever had.

33cl bottle @ nk bar. Cola brown, thin brown head. Chocolate cake, coffee beans, vanilla and roastedness in aroma. Flavor has brown sugar, vanilla, chocolate, ash, roastedness. Smooth, oily. Alcohol well hidden. Pleasant. As it warms up, it’s like you’re eating creamy chocolate pralines.
