Bottle shared at Zack's Epic Tasting. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Grain-forward nose with lots of pils malt and light lemon and peppery notes. Grainy on the palate, with dry grass and leafy hops with more pils malt. Lingering bitter, peppery finish. Slightly boozy. Not really a fan of this and saison is probably my favorite style.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is orange peel and coriander with a slight fruity ester. Flavor is again more of the orange peel and coriander with a dull grain. Not a big saison yeast ester came through and I got no ginger at all but the coriander and orange peel really came out. Not the best saison but definitely not the worst.

Thanks to ElManana + 1! Bottle sampled @ “Hot & Sweaty RBBSG 2015”. Hazy orange, little white. Nose is dank fruit, apricot, spices, light brett, apricot, spices,… Taste is dark fruit, dough, sweetish candy, lemon, dough, light brett, too sweet & not enough complexity but quite decent still. A bit yeasty body.

Cloudy blond beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive, falls down quickly. Aroma: very fruity, lots of banana, peaches, bit funky, brett notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, peaches, funky, little bitter, fruity, sour notes. Aftertaste: slightly hoppy, citrus, grassy, funky touch. Not a saison in any sense. Saison isn't about adding some brett to your beer, 'Murica!

Bomber - I typically shy away from adjunct heavy saisons, but I had to try this anyway, given it is my favorite style and I dig the old pulp novel schtick this brewery seems tom have going on - pours hazy gold with lively carbonation and a frothy head - nose of sweet melon, honey, mineral, rustic basement notes, lemon, ginger, muskiness, som spicy phenolics - soft carbonation - medium body - flavor is a bit sweet up front, with some honey and sweet orange character - but it dries out fairly well, developing a nicely rustic, earthy yeast character, followed by some dustiness, peppery phenolics - adjuncts are pretty potent in the finish and kind of get in the way of the yeast character - okay - tone down the adjuncts to let the yeast really shine and this could be really great.

My second beer from this brewery: 14th July 2014 at a beer tasting evening with Indian food at The Clay Oven, Irvine CA. Farmyard without any horse blanket smells or tastes, I’m happy with that! Hazy golden pour with a hint of a head settled on top. Mixed bag of aromas, fruit, both citrus and tropical, yeast, maltiness and spices: the taste a little bitterer than the smell indicated but still an interesting take on a style that I sometimes struggle to enjoy, this one I did. Medium bodied and nicely made all round.
