A revisit of our collaborative Double IPA brew with our friends from over t’hills Cloudwater Brew Co. Golden Promise, Wheat, Oat and Crystal Malt were used for a smooth, golden, malty body. A combination of Citra, Simcoe, Eureka and Mosaic T90 hops were used in the whirlpool and dry hopping, with additional Citra & Mosaic LupulN2 Pellets added in the dry hop. Fermented with London Fog yeast, the result is a fruit-filled DIPA with loads of Mango and Peach aroma/flavor, a little residual sweetness and a gravity-defying drinkability. Strap yourself in!

Malt: Golden Promise, Malted Oats, Malted Wheat and Crystal Light
Hops: T90 - Simcoe, Eureka and Mosaic, Cryo - Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic
Yeast: WLP066 London Fog

Half liter can pours with a clear gold copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up candied clementine and tangelo and a bit of tangy tangerine flowing into a juicy candy like orange sensation. The taste delivers similar notes with tangy tangerine, juicy clementine and tangelo heading quickly into juicy orange. Nice. It gets to be faintly cracker like into the finish from time to time and that rounds out the experience nicely.

(500ml can from boxbeers.dk) Pours clear medium orange with a big frothy eggshell head. Notes of biscuit malt with some soft caramel sweetness, sweet orange, canned tropical fruit, resinous hops, moderate pine, some citrus zest, moderately dank. Moderate sweet finishing fairly dry and moderately bitter, without the big tongue-gripping bitterness I was expecting from something rather West Coast. Medium bodied and a little oily, softly carbonated. Hint of alcohol. Not bad, but I felt like it was stranded between a west coast vibe and something a bit more, I don't know, English?

Can thanks to Mark. It pours clear golden - amber with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, mango, ripe fruits, mango, passion fruit and tropical fruit punch. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, sticky, oily, ripe stone fruits, apricot, juicy fruits, bit spicy, some mango and boozy warmth through the finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Not bad.

Växjö kapitelhuset Burk. Färgen ja guld och nästan klar. Ovanligt i dessa hazy tider. Doftar tungt, blött gräs, lite övermogna frukter, lovande. I munnen då? Jo överraskande bärig i förhållande till vad doften antydde. Röda vinbär och lite hallon och svagt av vitt vin. Bra Dipa men inte i topp. Doften lovade mer än vad smaken gav. Vad hade behöfts för bättre betyg då? Jo mer fyllighet ovh mindre syrlighet. Bra öl som många verkar gilla. Eller är det hypen som påverkar?
