Bottle at home in Hackney - wife picked this up for me in Norway back in 2014. Pours unclear brown with a bubbly, beige head. Medium to big sweet, with light oxidation, big toffee and caramel notes, some dried dark fruits, stewed apples, earthy bitterness, booze. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, lightly sticky, lots of well toasted malts, caramel, earth, burnt leaves, raisins. Solid gear overall, has aged pretty well.

Hazy brown colour, minimal off-white head; aroma of burnt plum jam, dried dates, herbal liqueur, burnt sugar and maybe slight ansie; taste of dried plum soaked in 96% distilled alcohol for at least a year, or even a whole decade, herbal liqueur, burnt sugar, brittle, dates and some slight marmalade notes; good one

Bottle @ home. Opaque muddy brown color, average to medium sized off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, don’t get much more initially but I have to say the beer was very cold. After warming up a not unpleasant lightly sticky resinous hop aroma comes through. Taste malts, sweet, dark malts, a hint of red berries in the distance, some alcohol, medium but lingering bitter finish. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. At first I thought it tasted a bit harsh sort of speak, but this is a perfect exemple of a beer which really improves after warming up. A nice slow drinker, a fine barley wine.

500ml bottle, batch 666, received from OleR in April 2014, many thanks. Stored in my cellar and finally shared at a session with djoeye and Finn. Decent fawn-coloured head covering a dark ruby coloured body. Spotty lacework. Inviting aromas of dried fruits and brown malts. Good taste of red and black berries, raisin, caramel and dark fruit. Jam-like impression. Welcome roasted malty bitterness to the ending joined by warming heat from the alcohol. Full bodied. Well made sipper (Tromsø 01.02.2016).

Flaske 500ml - batch 666 - spandert av Ole Richard. Delt med djoeye og Rune i WCveien 1 Feb 15. Rødbrun. Lavt skum. God fruktaroma - på grensen til sherry. Smaken sammensatt. Svisker & mandler. Søt. Farlig lett-drikkelig. Alkoholen merkes ikke. Et utmerket øl.
