Indian Pale wurde im 19. Jahrhundert in England und Schottland für die indischen Kronkolonien gebraut. Um die langen Seefahrten zu bestehen, wurde das Bier, ein Pale Ale, mit hoher Stammwürze und unter starker Zugabe von Hopfen direkt im Lagergefäß gebraut. Dies verlieh ihm die starke Bitternote und machte es haltbar.

Bottle as Schminlek's Pale Ale. Dark amber color, slight haze, big solid white head lacing. Flavor citrus and caramel, light toasted malts, hints of candy, prominent hops, moderate bitterness not excessive, bit salty, smooth finish.

.3 litre glass at the brewery on 12th May 2017. Sat in the early evening sun on their patio area. Third draft beer of the evening, cloudy old gold colour with a decent white head. Hop forward, crisp and very pleasant. Light citrus notes throughout, but not enough to ruin the brew (I am not a citrus flavoured beerman).

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, light hops. Malty flavour, light bitter. Malty finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Trübes dunkel orange goldenes Bier mit mittelgroßen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, leicht fruchtig, harzig. Geschmack sehr malzig, angenehm würzig hopfig, leicht fruchtig.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBSG 2015. Clear orange color, small off-white head. Smell and taste some malts, sweetish, slightly hops. Average body and carbonation. Meh.

Bottle from Erwin. Many thanks! @ RBBSG 2015. Amber colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Light sweet and malty, bitter hoppy finish. Bit weak and not very bitter. Not really an IPA.

Thanks! 500 ml. bottle sampled @ “Hot & Sweaty RBBSG 2015”. BBF 04/08/2015. Paler golden amber, little white. Nose is oily caramel, light oxidation, vegetable,… Fizzy thin, cooked corn, vegetable, sweetish, fizzy, sweetish,… Watery & fizzy,… Not very good.

Clear orange beer, creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, malty, pretty fruity, some banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malts, soft bitterness, very yeasty. Aftertaste: yeast, sweet, malty, quite some banana, bit herbal. Meh...

Sehr neutraler Geruch. Das Bier ist süßlich-malzig. Recht trocken mit kaum deutlichem Hopfen. Trocken-herb mit malzigem und leicht hopfig-frischem Aroma. Irgendwie unrund. Und vom Körper für ein gutes IPA zu malzig. 7/11/6/7
