330ml bottle. Cloudy, redd-ish amber colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Rather expressionless, featureless, there-is-something-more-in-the-air-than-pure-air aroma, whiffs of red berries and grainy malt. Taste is sweet-ish, husky, minimally nutty malty, hints of peanut, a touch of red berries. minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, soft to flat carbonation. If you ever asked what remains from the style, if a macro brewer attends to it - and maybe even in the absurd assumption to find out what the core of the style could be - here you go: barely nothing.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas (cheers mate!) consumed at home Monday 1st June 2020 after a 58km cycle ride. We're about to cook Traybake Chicken, Chorizo and Potatoes listening to Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever - Hope Downs. It might be called Brewers Gold but in colour it is anything but as it pours amber with a white head. Not as refreshing as I had hoped, malty, feels a bit lazy, chewy toffee and quite flat, at best just ok, though perhaps I am being a bit harsh a better beer to have had would have been a Pils or a Helles after a cycle ride. It's okay

Bottle. Slightly cloudy orange/amber with a beautiful white head and some yeast floating around. Mild aroma of malts, yeast and some citrussy fruitiness. Taste is very mild bordering on downright bland. Malts, yeast and a bit of honey and caramel. No bitterness. Strong carbonation. Well I had to buy this for undisclosed reasons but once is enough.

Bottle. Dark amber, golden, slightly unstable foam. Mineral, grass and strawberry aroma. Earthy entry, chewy berries, ribes, light melon, grain and fresh hay. Pleasant mouthfeel, dry herbal finish. Its a bit funny they went with a old-school British hop for their modern Z/K/L, but I kind of dig it, it adds enough of a subtle difference to be interesting as a macro offering.

Mediocre beer. Tastes a bit ashy. But has a good malt backbone. Typical zwickl. Sommel Dresden

bottle from Penny. Hazy golden with an amber glow, creamy off-white head, quickly collapsing. Looks lively while pouring, but is quite flat after a couple of minutes. Shy malty flavours, slightly grainy, shy hint of roasted malts, shy grassy-resiny hoppy finish. Mild and tame, but quite ok.
