White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

Bottle from Hopt.nl, shared with Benzai and skortila, 25 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is spicy and grainy, slight sweet caramel and maple syrup and has a bit of autumn leaves or oak wood notes. Quite sweet of maple syrup and vanilla, slight spicy yeast, perfumy alcohol. Nice.

750ml bottle. Clear cognac colour, with small, forthy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Woody, oaky aroma, hints of vanilla, a nuttily touch, hazelnut, nougat, some coconut as well. Taste is all along this line, good balance of rather subtle flavours, a slight predominance of oak.

On tap @ Ginger Man. A cloudy deep dark golden almost honey colored one with a small but lasting light sidesticking off-white top. It has a nose of wood, white wine, caramel and lots of fruity zest. Impressive in a strange way. More white wine in the taste. Lots of grapes, the Green kind. It has a above average carbonation level and a nice thick oily mouthfeel. Some alcohol, quite warming and suiting. Oaky dryness in the mouth. Zesty, some minty hints, herbal. Really packed with flavors. Ends with a hint of acidity on the tongue. A really nice beer. 19.06.2013
