White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

From a 2013 750 mL bottle. Pours a fully cloudedgolden brown with an off-white head. Tart apple and bourbony aroma. Apple yeasty tart flavor, some bourbon and oak notes. A little watery overall at this point. Decent.

Thank you gentlefolk! Sampled / shared 750 ml. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Hazy golden orange, little white head. Nose is sweet bourbon mixed with aspirin, rotting orange peel & sugar, lots of aspirin, bourbon layer behind it, weird. Very fizzy body that doesn’t really work esp. with its touch thicker body. Taste is rotting orange peel, rotting zest, bourbon, fizzy, oddly boozy, touch medicine, vitamins, washing powder, thick, bourbon vanilla in the back, lightly sour as well. Drank about 1/4th wasn’t too easy. More weird than enjoyable, didn’t get this beer at all. I asked if it is supposed to tastes like this, apparently yes. Usually The Bruery is decent but this one baffled me.

Draft pour at the beer authority tasting event. Pours a light golden color with a soapy lemon aroma. 2013 pour. Spicy flavor with a lot of yeast and an aged feel to it. A lot of funk to it. Good beer overall. Unique. Tasty.
