On tap. Pours a very hazy tawny color with very light head. Very light aromas of bananas and yeast. Flavors of cloves, lemons, and citrus.

Smells wheaty, pours half promising with a hazel cloudiness but taste is drab, uninteresting, watery. There’s a little bit of a sour smell there, I guess. Bottle from my sis in law’s boyfriend...go figure.

(On draft at the Grad Club, Kingston ON) Poured hazy yellow with a very thin bubbly white head for a hefe. Aroma estery banana, lemon, some clove, hints of bready yeast. Flavour is sweet pale malts that are not particularly wheaty, more banana, some muddled yeasty spice, and on the finish an acidic lemon note (from hops?). Mouthfeel is pretty light for a hefe, without the creamyness from the carbonation. Competent for the style but not exceptional.

Lots of cream and sugar on the nose. Has a nice foggy yellow body with a small head. Flavour is lemon with a weird cream adjunct flavours. Wet palate. It’s an odd hefeweizen.

On tap at Cactus Club, pours hazy dark yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus, orange peel and wheat. Flavour is pretty heavy on the citrus, which hits through to the end. Uninspiring.

Draught at the taproom
Muddy blond color; served with a lemon wedge. It has a light spicy aroma. There is little wheat character in the flavor, dry mouthfeel, and the finally is too light, almost watery.

Very cloudy yellow. Aroma is dusty, with spice and banana notes. Malty, estery profile. Otherwise clean with a refreshing, wheaty finish. By the numbers example, but well done. Ar 7 Ap 4 Fl 8 P 4 O 16 = 3.9

I have to admit that subsequent samples at bars and from bottles (which are bottle-conditioned) have let me down a bit relative to that initial pint at the brewery. The maltiness is less pronounced, the aroma not as bright and the elements not as sharp. More of a muddy looking, muddy-tasting hefe. Drinkable, but of no particular distinction.

This highly refreshing brew had banana, clove and hints of bubblegum in the nose. The body was very light with hints of cloves and very drinkable. However, the finish somewhat disappointed me with a mildly harsh six-grain aftertaste that wasn’t appealing.
