We've long been ardent fans of rhubarb at Vibrant Forest, though we usually throw the stuff at sours. Not any more though, it's now time to give it the IPA treatment!

The actual Rhubarb application was the easy part, but we wanted the IPA base to reflect the goods. We chose Mosaic and Centennial for this'un. Mosaic to bring its mix of tropical fruits and berried flavours, and Centennial to smash up that mix of citrus and pine. Rhubarb carries a very distinctive flavour, and we feel that these two hops compliment it very well!

Can from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head. Fresh aroma of carambola, passionfruit, lychee, spruce, yoghurt, rhubarb, peach. Taste has sweetish peach, mandarin & sour starfruit, quite juicy & zesty; bitter pine & earthy rhubarb notes then, all kept together by doughy maltiness. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, lingering herbal rhubarb & zesty tropical fruit. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Very refreshing IPA, just the right amount of rhubarb.

2/XI/19 - 44cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ the big Zombicide Tasting, BB: 2/III/20 - (2019-1810)

Little cloudy yellow beer, big creamy yellowish head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: some tropical fruits, sourish, funky, spicy, intense, some rhubarb on warming up. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of rhubarb all right! Nice acidity, citrus notes, nice bitterness, bit resinous, grapefruit. Aftertaste: more citrus, grapefruit skin, bitter and hoppy finish, nice one!
