Barrel-Aged Imperial Grapefruit Gose
The cocktail inspiration lives on. Our imperial gose is brewed with agave and sea salt before being aged in tequila barrels. But it doesn’t end there. Once it’s pulled from the barrels, it gets a dose of fresh grapefruit juice to ramp up the tanginess and to pay homage to our other favorite tequila-based cocktail, the Paloma. Sweet, salty, and mouth-puckeringly delicious. ¡Más Agave… Grapefruit!

Bottle shared with Paul, thanks for the hookup Pours a hazy orange amber with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Lime and grapefruit with a whole lot of sticky sweet barrel character, almost feels like backwoods bastard. Not bad.

355ml bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout. F: medium, egg-white, quick gone. C: orange amber, hazy with some tiny UFO´s. A: mellow orange, grapefruits, tequila, salty, woody, caramel, dried fruits. T: full malty base, mellow orange/grapefruits, woody, caramel, bit salty, some light fruity sour, soft carbonation, like or hate this “imperial gose style”, for me enjoyable for sure.

Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Hazy amber, thin, off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit juice, apricot, pear, ripe apple, caramel, tequila, salt. Taste has sweet orange, apricot & grapefruit juice, a bit bitter with a salty edge, caramel & brioche maltiness. Wet woody, floral hoppy finish, tad salty, lingering ripe citrus & warming tequila alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Decadent Imperial Gose, nice encounter, really gets the party going.

Hazy orange amber beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, a lovely light creamy sweetness. A good mildly salty lime vibe, that reminds very much of the splendid base beer. Soft pink grapefruit goes rather well. A little spice in the soft finish. Lovely lovely lovely! Such a fruity intensity, but spun off here with some added grapefruit. Dangerously drinkable.
