Canned 330ml. -from BeerLovers Shop Liege. Black coloured, small pale beige head, alcohol and light marzipan in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee and touch of marzipan with noticable alcohol. Bitter and light warming finish.

Cremig malziger Beginn, wenig röstig, stark schokoladig. Süffig, weich, mild alkoholisch, leicht bitter. Zunehmend malzig, würzig, langer Nachhall mit Bitterschokolade. Gut. 10/9/12/12/9/12

A black beer with a beige head. Aroma of mid sweet strong dark malt, chocolate, coffee, liquorice. Taste of roasted dark malt, chocolate, liquorice, ash, thick mouthfeel.

Clear deep dark red brown beer, big aery irregular fizzy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: good roast, sweet malts, caramel, some overripe banana, lots of chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, bit malty, pretty bitter, sweet touch, lots of alcohol, some caramel malts, coffee notes. Aftertaste: lots of dark chocolate, bitter, alcohol, caramel, malts, lovely stuff!

Imperial stout by this quiet yet progressive craft brewery in the Borinage region, can from Geers. Irregularly lacing, greyish beige, medium thick, slowly opening head on a very dark chocolate brown beer with chestnut glow - blackish, but not entirely opaque. Aroma of black coffee, melting black chocolate, whisky, pipe tobacco ashes, toffee or even Chocotoff candy, burnt sugar, wet leather, hazelnut oil, thyme, bayleaf, brown bread. Sweetish onset with light sourish edge, touch black olive but more blackberry jam and dried fig, softly tingling carbonation in a full, oily mouthfeel. Hard-caramelly, roasted-hazelnutty and dark-chocolatey layers of malt, smooth but 'deep', with a roasty coffee bitterishness in the end - yet the sweetness remains just a tad stronger; something slightly ashy briefly pops up in the end along with some light bready yeastiness and peppery hop bitterness, but a warming, whisky-like alcohol glow gets the last word. American style imperial stout the 'old' way - this drinks like a RIS like it was made twenty years ago, just that tad sweeter and less roasty than the British forefathers, but by no means trying to approach the current pastry stout hype. I am a sucker for old-fashioned stouts and this one certainly qualifies, especially since it is well constructed, with only the slightest signs of 'Belgianness'. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Brune foncée presque noire, col fin blanc-cassé.
Arôme est bien malté, note de chocolaté, pointe de fruits rouges - noirs. Fines effluves de café assez doux en rétro-nasal.

Palais est épais, boozy, un peu sec, cendré, chocolat noir voire chocolat amer et au lait, le tout suivi d'une note agréable de café sur une fin note de réglisse.
Pruneaux avec une petite douceur café-espresso en retrait.

Une belle expérience, un stout solide de qualité, à voir une version en barrique.
