Crisp deep amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, off-white head that fades fairly quickly and leaves just about nothing on top after a few seconds. Aroma of metal, light grain, some subdued citrus fruits and a touch of caramelised sugars, but the grain and definitely the metallic twang is by far the strongest scents here. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive dry and grainy malt flavours show up at first with a nice bitterness from some German hops that don't have too many alpha acids, but do show a lot of character and dryness, which all lead to the metallic twang near the end that hits hard and lasts long. Aftertaste shows the dryness along with some nutty and earthy qualities that weren't noticed before, but a subdued sweetness from caramelised sugars and toffee shows with a light hit of the hops. Overall, not a bad beer and to me, this tastes more like a Vienna than a Marzen, but that said, they are similar and this shows fairly nicely. Good to sample and worthy of a sample if you can find it while in Germany and not sampling the Advent Calendar pack here stateside! I sampled this 50 cL can, from Day #7 of the Costco 2020 Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-December-2020.

Pretty nice stuff. Crisp and flavourful. Nice barley here. Clear copper pour with great frothy head. Nothing fancy here, just an even, well put together marzen. Crisp finish. Can from day seven on Christmas calendar.

Half liter can, 12/7/20, #7 from the Costco advent calendar. Clear copper, large frothy white head, good retention. I miss beers that look like this. Aroma of grain and caramel. Taste is raisin, caramel, grain. Medium bodied, just enough bitterness to balance. Really nice.

Caramel malt and grass aroma. Amber with giant light tan head with mild effervescence. Moderately sweet caramel malt, and mildly bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Good body. Solid.

500 ml can purchased as part of the 2020 Costco Advent Calendar at the Costco in Overland Park, Kansas. Exp 2022/05 printed on the bottom of the can. The pour is a clear copper with an off white head that falls quick. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, bit of metallic and earth. The taste is the malt flavor, caramel, some bright apple fruit, then the metallic dirtiness. The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation, and the dirty finish. Not a great version of the style.
