Nicie is an American Wheat Ale brewed with orange zest, lemon zest, coriander, and a hint of peppercorn. Orange-gold in color and light in body, Nicie is infused with the scents and flavors of fresh citrus. The subtle taste of coriander and spice of peppercorn makes this ale both refreshing and complex. Nicie is the perfect accompaniment to a summer day.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow body. Short, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma as advertised: black pepper, coriander, lemon. Hint of toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. Lemon tartness on top of citrus and pepper. Bitter finish. The flavor combination isn’t working for me.

Bottle @ home. Slightly hazy, golden yellow appearance with a white head. Spicy, floral, incense, peppercorn, coriander aroma. Floral, potpourri, wheat malty, coriander, peppercorn flavor. Way too many spices going on for my taste. Cleanser. Yuck...

355 ml bottle, shared with OleR at Olympen, Oslo. American Wheat Ale with orange zest, lemon zest, coriander and peppercorns. Hazy golden colour, low white head. Sourish bread dough aroma, also hints of citrus and coriander. Sourish (house character?) flavour with notes of citrus. Could use more coriander, and definitely more hops.

Bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. It pours a slightly hazy, golden body and a small, off-white head. Spiced nose with pleasant black pepper aromas, some citrus rind and a hint of malts. It’s full-bodied and smooth, slightly peppery-warming. The flavor has a nice blend of lemon, orange and black peppers, quite low on bitterness. Bitter, spiced finish. I like the blend of pepper and citrus, but it sort of stops there. 110129
