Nicie is an American Wheat Ale brewed with orange zest, lemon zest, coriander, and a hint of peppercorn. Orange-gold in color and light in body, Nicie is infused with the scents and flavors of fresh citrus. The subtle taste of coriander and spice of peppercorn makes this ale both refreshing and complex. Nicie is the perfect accompaniment to a summer day.

Hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a very thin off-white head. Aroma of curacao (strong), oranges (full), coriander seed, aniseed, and a bit of rye and lavender. Light-bodied; Mellow odd flavour with a very dry and lemony flavour showing a ton of acidity, a lot of sweetness and a almost lemonade or fruit flavour soon afterwards. Aftertaste shows pretty much no depth and substance, just a lemon and curacao overtone with some light sweetness and almost a puckering sourness at the very end. Overall, a very interesting beer - almost a cross between a wit, a herb/spice/veg, a biere de garde and a touch of a sour ale. Odd indeed, and worth trying if you like any of these styles - but beware, this is a VERY mild beer that would be great in summertime, there isn’t too much flavour, but a lot of smells! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 30-July-2010 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-March-2011.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours golden with a rough white head. Lovely citrus aroma - and I believe I pick up some pepper as well. Medium body, a little sweet lemon and perhaps lemongrass. Dry finish. Very fresh and drinkable - would be a perfect summer quencher. 290111

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is mostly wheat with a bit of orange and lemon, maybe a touch of coriander. Flavor is led by the lemon and orange zest with the coriander and peppercorns also making definite impressions, with wheat forming the base. Light on the palate, but well-balanced. This is exactly what it says on the bottle, and it works rather well.
