Bottle at Proeflokaal MOUT, Groningen. Nicely sour, fruity aroma with straw, soft tomato, oak, some herbal notes. Tart and medium sour, some sweetness. Medium body. Very good as usual from Nevel.

375ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with small, bubbly, white head. Bretty, funky and veggie aroma, notes of barnyard funk, acidic hints of tomato, a slight pizza touch of baked yeast dough, tomato sauce, herbs, basil, marjoram. Taste is mildly funky, mildly tart, tangy, herbal spicy, notes of pizza sauce, tomato, herbs, basil, marjoram, mild herbal vinegar tartness, weak, woody, oaky BA overtones. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally astringent palate, very fine, soft carbonation. Completely contrary to a fruit flavoured Sour Ale; not much compensation for the tartness (except for some tomato aspects maybe), well-integrated, harmonious herbal spiciness. Not bad.

Bottle. Batch #2. Golden blonde. Citrus and some soft herbal notes in the aroma. Citric, dry flavor with hints of rosemary and basil. Sweet tomatoes. Moderate sourness. Luckily also a moderate use of spices.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orange golden, very thin white head. Aroma: Farm barn and leathery wild yeast funk, fruity, moderate tart. Taste: Over moderate tart and moderate sweet, very light bitterness. Funky, fruity notes, vegetables and herbal hints. Subtle tomato, I think I wouldn't have recognized this taste as tomatoes if I didn't know. Some wood, tannins. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Just under medium body, low carbonation. Nice, typical Nevel beer. Over here in The Netherlands, they are the only one that brews beers like this.

Bottle shared at home. Bit unclear golden with white ring head. Sour grainy, spiced herbal, tomato plant, not the fruit, some mint, mild and very fruity with nice balanced herbs and spices. Medium body and soft carbonation. Solid Nevel beer, close friend of Meander. Next time I’d love to try with a Desem pizza. 😉

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy golden with small white head. Typical Nevel yeast, wheat, light fruity, lemon, mint, soft herbs, a hint of tomatoes but I'd never guessed if I didn't know they were in there. Under medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Medium bodied. Very subtle and a typical Nevel beer, best tomato beer ever.
