High quality beers, according to the Barley style and philosophy, dry in the aftertaste with moments of freshness and seasonings which, in addition to cleansing the tongue, contrast the unction and heaviness of greasy and succulent foods. The wide range of the variegated Sardinian gastronomy, coupled with the afore-mentioned characteristics of the BB9 permit the beer to be enjoyed with both meat and fish cuisine. In the first case, from pasta dishes such as culurgionis served with sea urchin ragout or fregola, a Sardinian couscous style dish, with tomato sauce, sausage and pecorino cheese to the redoubtable lamb stew and in the second case it is excellent with sea food and raw fish.

Golden colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have sweet malts and candy. Maybe some sultana too.

Leighton’s flat clearance. Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Airy malts, mildly sweet. Mild wood. Sweet dessert wine fruits. Little spice. Crystallised fruits. Light semi dry finish. Tasty enough. Maybe more time would benefit.

Medium sweet flavour with pale bread, ripe citrus, tangerin meringue, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, with bready pale malts, more ripe citrus, dough, meringue. Enjoyable.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours light hazy orange - amber with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, stinky, pear, apple, stewed orange, nectarine, dried mango, sugary filth and loads of sugary candy. The taste is sweet, sticky, sugary, sweet white wine, candied fruits, nectarine, peach, icing sugar, booze and wood with a sweet, sticky finish. Medium - full body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Far too sweet and sticky for the likes of me. Fair.

Taste comprises sweet malts, caramel, toffee, light spice, dark fruit rinds, candy bar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok easy drinking BW but lacks complexity for the ABV.

Gylden brun noe tåkete med kremete beige skum. Lukter mandel, noe fersken og fudge. Fyldig i smak, alkohol og parfyme. Skarp lang bitterhet, mot drueskall og sitrusskall.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a white head. Very odd perfumey bonbonish aroma – interesting though. Fairly rich body, quite some fruit but also annoying phenols. Ends dry with some biiterness. Probably could’ve been great with a different yeast. (let’s ban Belgian yeast and nasty phenols!) 230213
