Zit een eigenaardig smaakje aan. Voor mij meer het gevoel van een tripel dan een witbier. Niks enormspeciaal

Pours clear blonde, ok white head. Smell is spiced, coriander, bit sweet. No overload though. Taste is bit bitter, coriander, some sweetness (sugary) . Ok mf and carbo. Pretty standard wjite-like beer, even though its not ás spices as others in the genre.

Pajiza turbia. Escasa espuma.

Bottle from Klaas. Many thanks! Hazy golden colour, white foam. Aroma of banana, citrus and some spices. Sweet, light bitter finish. Easy drinkable. Ok beer.

33cl bottle on 6th Feb 2015 in De Bierboom (Brugge), no mention of 500 on my label. I thought this grainy for a Witbier. Slight haze to the light golden pour, white head on top. Spices in the aroma with a yeasty, citrusy overtone, some sweet banana and bubblegum like esters in there too. The taste was leaning towards sweeter than the nose with grainy bread maltiness adding to the smells and traces found in the aroma. A bit sweet for a Witbier and more multi-grain than wheat. Nice though.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Weizen glass. Hazy, pale golden colour with a fine, fluffy white head. Spicy aroma with yeasts, citrus, coriander, banana and bubble gum. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a lively, tingling carbonation. Finishes rather sweet and rich for a Witbier with spices and wheat malts. A Witbier to the sweeter side. I prefer these a bit drier and lighter in alcohol.

Helder geel bier met weing schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zuur. Lijkt niet erg op standaard witbier maar is erg goed. Blijft gemiddeld hangen.

’Tarwedubbel’ named after a 16th-century scientist (if such a thing even existed back then) with a cream white, moussy, stable head and orangey golden blonde colour, hazy, even milky after adding the deposit. Aroma of fresh wheat sourishness, sweet bread, pear, peach, straw, ginger, coriander, vanilla, gingerbread. Malt sweetish onset, refreshing wheat sourishness, fruity, with some coriander and a drying finish with a hint of warming alcohol. The added spices are subdued in this - in fact, De Graal claims to use none at all. I’m convinced I found some coriander in this, however, but that could still be autosuggestion. Interesting.
