Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 9C, adapted). Bottle 25 cl - Batch L210QE (BBF DEZ.2017). AROMA: predominant medium.high alcohol aroma with solvent notes, followed by a medium-low roasted malt aroma. APPEARANCE: black body with slight ruby highlights. medium moussy light brown head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium solvent alcohol note, followed a slight vinous character and a strong roasted malt presence (burnt). medium-high bitterness with a dry and burnt finish. PALATE: full body with medium-low carbonation. faint astringency. warmth sensation. OVERALL: an "imperial" Porter with an overwhelming higher alcohol presence and burnt malt.

Bottle at Beer Station Lisboa. It pours jet black with a sturdy tan head. The aroma is dark roast, toasty, bitter - sweet, coffee, milk chocolate, mocha, berry and plum jam. The taste is rich, roasted malt, robust, charred wood, pretty bitter, earth, cocoa, coffee grounds, berry skin, plum, vinous, spice and warming alcohol. Plenty of flavour, but it is heavy duty stuff. Good fun anyhow.
