Lattina.

330ml can from HOTM. Black with small off-white head, leaves a thin top. Aroma of salted caramel, chocolate, lactose, very inviting. Taste is toasted malts, chocolate, lactose, then the salted caramel comes in, sweet, bitter, salty, rich and sticky. Maybe a bit too much going on, it starts to lose a bit of balance. Still tasty though.

Can, at Christianssand Brygghus. A dark brown beer with a nice two finger light beige head. Curtains. The aroma has lots of caramel, with ginger, cloves and a good dash of vanilla. Some chocolate and coffee. It's full bodied and sticky on the palate, surprisingly it feels lightly warming too, and it's rather low on carbonation. Caramel, dried ginger, cloves, vanilla, prunes and some coffee and dark chocolate in the flavor. Brown sugar and even more caramel, as well as a light salty touch. Long finish. Too sweet this one, but i like the spiced notes. 221119

17/XI/21 - on tap @ DOK Brewing Company, BB: n/a (2021-1454)

Clear deep brown to black beer, big creamy beige thick head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely stuff, lots of caramel, vanilla, sweet, sugary touch, bit salty, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice roast, caramel touch, sweet, bitter, vanilla, salty notes, more caramel, maple syrup, cough syrup. Aftertaste: roasted, caramel, some coffee notes, vanilla, bit sourish, very balanced, very tasty for a 5.5% abv!

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from HOTM. Can was a bit engorged and, sure enough, it gushed upon opening. Didn't lose much liquid, though. Pours deep brown with a modest, creamy beige head. Medium sweet flavour, not cloying, some dark berries, soft caramel, quite mild salty notes, toasted sugars, raisins, brown bread, faint roast. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, more dark caramel, toasted malts, berries. Enjoyable session pastry.

Can 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a huge and gigantic beige head. Sweet and intense yet artificial caramel aroma mixed with milk chocolate. Thin and watery body, sweet, sweet, sweet with artificial flavoring written all over it. 220821

Can 33 cl. Pours a deep, clear burgundy red rather than black really with judt a tiny, beige head. I love salt caramel, but the aroma is a totally overdone, sticky fudge mess with no trace of the base beer. Thin body, heavy, artificial vanilla notes and only the vaguest hint of roastiness from the poor low ABV base Stout. Strangely there seems to be no salt caramel in the brew according to the ingredients list - only cheap vanilla essence. What a scam! And people fall for it.... 080120
