The All United Pale Ale (AUPA) represents a prideful bunch – quality pale ales and the people of the Basque Country. The AUPA Pale Ale showcases lemony citrus underscored by notes of earth and artisanal bread due to dry-hopping with Columbus and Cascade. Aupa is a common greeting or cheers in Basque.

Tap at Salon piva. Quite clean APA fermentation wise, considerably caramelly though, which slightly obscures the otherwise fine cotrusy fruity hops flavour. Still rather hoppy though.

On-tap in The BrewDog bar in Barcelona with the RBESG guys on 9th July 2016. Deep golden amber body, wispy white head. Citrus lean in the fruity nose with definite grapefruit esters within the aroma. Grapefruit flavours are also in the fruity taste alongside other ’less sweet’ citrus notes. One of many citrusy flavoured beers we sampled during the four day Gathering. This one did not stand out, but was not a bad example either.

Keg at the London Beer House. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is mellow, sweet tropical fruit vibe, sherbet, candied citrus peel and orange. The taste is bitter, pine needles, grapefruit zest, earth, mild astringency, toasted grain, resin, spice and light soap with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Grew on me after a while. Decent.
