Belgian Wits are traditionally brewed with orange peel and coriander, so to add a flavourful and modern twist on a classic we enlisted the help of our pals at Genuine Tea. We replaced the orange peel with another classic - Earl Grey. Made with the oil of Bergamot Orange citrus, the tea gives this beer a unique flavour while honouring the classic beer style.

Can from YIG in North Bay, ON.
Hazy yellow pour, with a large white head. Aroma is wheat forward, soft citrus, light lemon rind, hints of spice, and black tea with a hint of bergamot. mouth feel is full, and slightly creamy, carb is soft, but pleasant. Finish is lightly bitter, black tea comes through, ramps it up to maybe a medium on the bitterness scale near the end. Beramot mingles with a sweet lemon rind, and malted wheat.

473ml Blik van Beer Republic. Vrijwel helder goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Zoet, banaan, tarwe, heel licht earl grey thee, licht bitter. Komt op mij over als een doodsaaie en flauwe Kristallweizen met een beetje thee-extract. Matig.

Can: Poured a golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and light lacing, Aroma of cereal notes with some dry tea undertones and light spices including coriander. Taste is also a mix of coriander and wheat malt with a dry finish with some tea undertones. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable wheat ale with a good twist with the tea notes.
