Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some ashes, mild meaty tones along with some alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, ashes, some dried fruits, smoked wet wood and some quite boozy elements. Alcohol and smoked wooden tones in the finish. A bit too boozy for it's own good.

Si ce Road Troy jouit de jolis arômes avec une orange bien dosée, la douceur, trop marquée la rend quelque peu écœurante en fin de dégustation. Dommage car cet Imperial Stout a de vraies qualités comme l'intensité, l'équilibre malt/houblon/alcool et comme précédemment indiqué la ligne aromatique. En verre, nous sommes sur un noir total quasiment sans mousse. Le nez est très appréciable sur une alliance très réussie et intense de moelleux au chocolat, de cacao, orange, café et toffee. En bouche, c'est intense, franc et riche avec des épices qui apparaissent en plus. La texture est relativement fine. L'ensemble n'est pas d'une complexité incroyable mais l'intensité compense cela. Mais le sucre, trop présent rend l'ensemble trop lourd sur la longueur. Fin de route prématurée !

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, small brown head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and orange juice. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, chocolate, coffee and orange marmelade. Inky bitter finish.

[ As Hoppy Road Troy ].
ABV: 10.0%. Clear dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, cocoa, english licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, orange chocolate, cocoa, rich, english licorice. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming. [20220206]

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas' place. Black, brown foam. Roast, some chocolate, orange, some licorice, some alcohol, sweet, bitter finish, quite full-bodied.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 15/12/2022.
Noire épais, coulant comme du goudron, col épais crémeux café au lait, huileux et doré au verre.
Arôme au nez malté grillé café, chocolaté avec un rétro d'orange en retrait. Grains et avoine avec un apport plaisant herbacé du houblon qui confère également un léger côté boisé.
Palais est épais, boozy chargé en malt chocolaté marqué avec une douceur d'orange en confiture qui arrive en retrait. Douceur latente et épaisseur aidée par l'avoine - excellent rétro torréfié. Chaleur des 10% qui reste tout au long. L'ajout de Nugget confère un caractère un peu herbacé dans un style qu'on peut retrouver en barley wine. Fini sec avec une petite touche rappelant la feuille de tabac séchée.
Bine ficelée avec une petite touche épicée-piment séché en fin de bouche.

Bottle, 330 ml, shared with Max, Bazz and Uhmelj. Black with beige head. Chocolate, roasted, cocoa, some orange, sweetish with bitter finish. Medium bodied.
