In 1343, The Livonian Order fought a bloody battle against the Estonians at Sojamae (The War Hill). Nearly 700 years later the Danish returned to that very hill, now home to Sori Brewing, carrying a beer recipe and an olive branch. Livonian Crusade is an alliance between Amager and Sori, a bold Imperial Stout aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black and opaque with a tiny, beige head. Weird, but I get more coconut than Bourbon in the nose. Rich and very sweet vanilla, molasses roast. More raisins and dates thogh. And again these coconut accents although less than in the nose. Low carbonation. Warming alcohol finish. The Bourbon is rather downplayed, but it's a damned delicious beer anyways - candy in a bottle. 230323

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head that settles quickly. Aromas of bourbon, licorice and postage stamps. Flavors of rich bourbon, toffee, nougat, sweet figs, and oily roasted malts, plus a bit of minty postage stamp. Is the latter just me? Doesn't put me off; just different... Hot dry alcohol finish. Overall very good.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Spicy and roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, lots of cinnamon, notes of coconut. Taste is roasty dark malty, spicy and slightly alcoholic, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate sauce, cinnamon, coconut, some dark caramel, BA interludes; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, creamy, minimally cloying palate, fine, slightly prickly carbonation. Nice composition, maybe a tad overspiced, widely disguised BA flavours - ver nice, dangerously drinkable sipper.

Takie moge pic
